"Ukay-ukay" or mixed in English, is a Visayan term used to describe sets of used, or aged-clothes and apparels which are sold at their lowest price. Some are branded, while others are not. Typically, these clothes are sold at around 15 pesos to 45 pesos, it depends on the style of the clothing.
Tuesday, a very sunny-day, me and my long-time friends went strolling and decided to go around the public market, where most of the "ukay-ukay" spots are found. Around 10 am, we met and started finding some cool and unique clothes. I've been into many mounds of clothes and still I can't find a nice one. Most of them are almost trash, believe me.
On our way, we decided to tour the other part of the market. There we found some cool clothings, in fact, i've even bought a New Balance jacket fot only 35 pesos, cool isn't it? I also bought a jacket, with a chibi monkey on its print. So many nice displays, but its getting late in the noon, and the sun is getting hotter, so we decided to part ways and go home. 2 pm, I arrived, and took a deep nap.
Filipinos are very fond of this activity and it was my first time doing that serious thing. So it makes me proud that, at least, i've experienced that one-of-a-kind Pinoy experience. Believe me. :)
